I want to buy a desktop computer, with windows 7 (apparently better than 8) that will run minecraft at about 150 FPS without optifine installed and best gameplay settings (far rd, fancy graphics, etc). The price range i'm looking for is up to 1.5k, but i can go higher if needed. If anyone knows a good desktop that will fit these descriptions, please tell me.

BUILD ONE. With 1.5k you could build a computer that would run minecraft like it's nothing. You probably could play COD no problem if you got the right parts, like for example an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 ti superclocked graphics card.

Right, So you want 150+ FPS on minecraft? I would go budget. For instance, AMD Graphics will do the job, AMD Processor is cheaper and has more for the money

With 1.5 grand you can get a lot more than 150 fps....
Processor: i7-4960 $300
Ram: 16gb CORSAIR Vengeance $200
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI $200
Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 780 $500
Power supply: 700 watt $70
Case: 100$
Hard Drive: $100

Say hello to 500 FPS without optifine

Wow, is this your one? I'll look into it... but your $1.5k is like $1.6k for me xD

True, build one. This is my rig, it cost $1300-1400 AUD at the time when I bought it. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/taeyeong2000/saved/224r
I'll check this one too :) How much FPS do you get w/o optifine?

I've been using Windows since 95 and I can tell you, Windows 8 isn't as bad as reviewers say. The boot up is 2x faster than Windows 7, looks nice and clean and does the job.
Windows 7 is still a great OS for Windows, nice and stable and does the job. But if you fancy exploring, check out Windows 8.

And yeah, build your own computer, its the best thing to do. To get really nice FPS, you don't need to get an i7 with 16GB's RAM etc etc. Those are like the nice extra things that you don't really need. For example, I have an i5 3rd gen and it does a wonderful job with my 8GB RAM. I'm currently play Planetside 2, which likes to eat up CPU and GPU, and I can play it on max settings and still get the recommended 60FPS (without overclocking). I could get more if I had a different GPU (I have the 660, could have got the 700's instead) or if I bought the 4th gen i5

Australian dollar (AUD)
In american dollars, the converted price range would be $0 - $1675.98
In euro, the converted price range would be $ - 975.37 (Lord god...)
Getting the prices and then converting them is a wise idea, you'd be better off looking at an Australian website, do you know of any that sell parts or offer customisation for a reasonable price? If so, I can help you.

What is all this i7 ram stuff? It's confusing... :c Can you explain what each bit means?

All we really have is Gumtree, like an australian ad site but it's way less organised. There probably is an australian desktop site, so i'll look it up now.
