So what's going on?

Hey all.

Some of you may remember me, most will not. I was big in the clan scene and ran two notable clans; Sovereign and Vanguard. Around 2 years ago I left out of boredom and pursued other games (Currently LoL and CSGO).

Lately I decided to come back and play a few rounds, for old times sake. I was overwhelmed by fast paced maps with only one OP route. I would get dominated a few minutes by the group or individual who got stacked the fastest.

I remember constantly seeing donors and mods everywhere. What happened to that? The competitive clan scene also died out a bit. Did we ever get custom clan battle servers? Everything just seems so lifeless and dull and I have no idea what happened.

Someone explain?

we got custom clan battle servers called mc maker. mcsg is nearly dead. clan community cleared out, randoms rule mcsg. clans only play league, csgo, hcf, and like uhc. and sometimes clan battle.

MCSG turned into one of those servers where people hack for fun, as it is notorious for having a terrible anti-cheat.

Clans are basically dead.

Badlion now rules "competitive" Minecraft.

So basically right around when you left the maps started to slowly get smaller in size, more OP in tiering and more open for fast paced PVP instead of the "survival" part of survival games. Most big old maps have been removed like SG 3, survival kingdom, sg 5 etc. The smaller OP maps became the new popular maps such as Par 72 and Green Grass.

Basically from one game to the next it's really similar in play style since the only maps that get voted are the ones that have OP routes. Inertia has 100+ tier 2s... Most balanced maps have 35-40.

You will see less donors and mods because there are features to disguise your name and hide your rank so you won't get targeted. There's still lots of those haha

Long time no see man, we're hopefully bringing back the whole clan aspect of the server, it's been kinda going down here recently but me and a couple of moderators and players have been trying to revive it back

I remember seeing you around all the time. Basically, the game has become less and less strategy based and more and more PvP based. Because of the 1.7 and 1.8 updates to Minecraft, PvP itself became very unbalanced, and the game became less and less enjoyable to play. At the same time as all of this happened, the community started to die and become toxic. I never see anyone I recognize in games anymore and MCSG honestly feels completely lifeless. Less and less people have donator because it isn't really necessary to have it anymore, because it's easy to get into games without it now.

Also, MCSG has been constantly removing older maps that "aren't played enough" (such as SG5, Survival Kingdom, Fortress Pyke, and more) that are actually good maps, and just replacing them with new maps that aren't getting played either, except these new maps are smaller, have too many chests, and aren't really original at all. But somehow, despite how bad it's gotten, I'm still around. It's good to see some older players back on here every once in a while

What the hell. Why being moderator means you have to pontificate everything. Not a diatribe, but you didn't used to type like this and it is redundant. Being moderator is not someone who represents the server, leave that to youtubers and higher staff.

anywaaaay. u probably, Salamancer, want to leave this game. Old days doesn't means the game was ever good, or even fun. I never thought the game was fun, just entertaining. And I was stuck with this game for a long long time because I had nothing else to do, to the point I was leeched into the community for the lack of entertainment. I really don't understand the appeal: a bunch of ignorant, selfish, unnerving, degenerate, irrational people. What is so fun about that?

Umm Fox I would think that mods represent the server more than any VIP could, like it or not they know more of what's actually happening than us

I'm allowed to help out anyway I can to help the community and make it a peaceful and respectful place. Also I do represent the server because you don't want mods going around breaking the rules and doing disrespectful things to everyone. So I do represent the server
