This is why we can't have nice things.

Seriously, someone is open enough about it that they'll go by that online. That's it. It's not a joke, it's not clickbait; it's a username. If you want to make a joke of it, joke about how big of a raging homosexual someone is, not the fact that homosexuality exists. That fact also shouldn't be much of a shocker or attention grabbing (unless you're me and love making jokes about how big of a lesbian you are and see an opertunity to make many gay jokes about yourself), so it shouldn't be considered clickbait.

We seriously shouldn't need to have this kind of conversation; it's so pointlessly immature.

Yeah, there's no need to flaunt your sexuality online, but there's also no reason not to. It's your choice. Online you create an identity for yourself, and if that's what you want to be known by; good for you.

I think he's saying if the only thing that you can say about yourself is that you're homosexual, its kinda awk.

Yeah, that'd be awkward, because having just a single aspect that defines you as a whole and have nothing else is completely impossible. If it's something you're proud of or think is a large part of your identity; then yeah, go by that.

And how would I be triggered? Yes; I have a lot of things that do, infact, trigger me to have anxiety attacks because of my previous experience with the topic, and in many cases I purposely put myself through those triggers to explore my sense of self worth. That being said: nothing you've done could be considered a trigger to me, as I have some experience when dealing with heteronormativity and ignorance. If you're gonna pull the "[blank] is my trigger I'm gonna kill you" card because of a stereotype about feminists, all it does is show me how horribly immature you are.
