Nope. When you go for a hit using vanilla sprint your client "slows down" whereas with BSM it continues to sprint.

bsm and toggle sprint aren't the same i can't seem to understand what you're trying to say

Well if people arguing to make it allowed on MCGamer, their main point is that it isn't an advantage, and it's the same as pvping with vanilla sprint.

Its so you don't have to keep on holding onto the sprint key. Us, pvpers just want to toggle
our sprint on so we can just focus on playing the game, not to worry about if we are sprinting or not. I really don't see how this is an advantage, it just makes gameplay a lot smoother.

Hive have always allowed BSM so that's why they still have it.

What I recall is that toggle sprint doesn't reset your sprint when playing hence the reason it gives an unfair advantage. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're thinking of sprint fixers that are in ghost clients lol, toggle sprint literally just saves the hassle of not holding down the sprint key, there are no extra features.
