If you apply the same argument to 1.8, it's worth noting that we do keep statistics on what version players use, and the vast majority of players currently use 1.8.



Simply put, not supporting 1.9 is not an option because of what I said above: the vast majority of players use 1.8.

Yeah, sure, okay. That's why half the playerbase left when you updated to 1.8. That's why so many people left that the entire network had to re-add 1.7.10 support. That's why literally every MCSG youtuber I've ever watched uses 1.7.10.

But sure, whatever, most everybody uses 1.8. Maybe that's because it's where the best hacked clients are?

No because most multiplayer servers are always 1.8 versions. But this one is for 1.7.10 and 1.8+ so they might not use 1.9 on this server.

I did write the post in English, and as it clearly states, you'll be able to connect with either 1.7.10, 1.8, or 1.9. As a general rule, the server must be based off of the lowest supported version. Thus, it's still fundamentally a 1.7.10 server at the core, thus retaining 1.7-style combat.
