My Rant about Mod Application's

I realize the senior moderators and admins probably get these kinda rants enough, but I can't help state my opinion

Being 13 myself and a wanna be mod make's me very dissapointed to see '' No exceptions will be made for people under the age of 15 ''. Recently applications have re - opened and I took some 4 - 5 hours writing an application. After writing it, revising, and editing and even getting my ELA teacher to look over it I applied. Like I said i'm 13 and I learned that they had scrapped the rule about making some exceptions after Tironas was chosen for moderator. I feel this rule that no exceptions will be made is kind of unfair to the people that are too young of the position that could get moderator. I personally think that if they have an amazing enough application and you think they may be moderator potential that you should give them an interview. They did that with some people and they have turned out to be good mods. All in all. They should consider giving people under the age an interview. Yes some 14 year olds and under can be very immature but there are some that are different. I hope this makes a difference, but if not. You'll see my application when i'm 15!

This... but yeah. There's been problems with younger moderators, You're lucky it's 15... It was 18 when I first applied.

You've also got to realize that younger usually means immaturity is then a factor. Yes, there are several immature 18 year olds and older; I don't deny that. However, it certainly cuts out a lot of unnecessary drama.

Let me ask you this. What is the benefit of Hiring a 13 year old to be moderator instead of an 18 year old? And what are your motives to becoming a moderator? Most 13 year old kids want to be a moderator for bragging rights and the ability to join any server. I am 15 and personally want to be a mod so that i can keep the servers and forums clean of hackers and spammers.

An act of immaturity has been shown by this thread alone. The rules were stated (which you didn't read) that you MUST BE AT LEAST 15 yet you applied, then complained when you realized.

Both sides make good points here.
It makes sense to ignore the applications on the basis that they are too young and therefor probably don't have the maturity to do the job appropriately. However I can help but feel sorry for all the people who are underage and DO deserve to be a mod, I've seen a lot of good people out there with a lot of potential, who cant get accepted.
I would also like to mention that when I was accepted I was underage at the time, but they accepted me because my application was seriously good and my interview went amazingly well (I had a lot of Mod and Admin experience and was a founding member of an old server so that helped). so this makes me feel sorry for all the others who don't get the same chance I did back in the early days.
I don't think they are going to change it because it makes a lot of sense, but I agree it is in some ways unfair.

Yes I came to the realization of the rules. I started writing the app a few days before the official thread was out and based my app of of what the past templates was ( When underage people could be accepted ). I saw my friend link me the place where you post it and I did. I made this post not to complain about my being denied but to bring what I think is a real problem to the community. Also you think I'm in just for the title and the priveleges? No. I legitimately want to help this community become a better place and grow. I want to get poked in the middle of the game to go tell someone to stop capsing or record a hacker. '' This thread alone shows a act of immaturity ''. No showing an act of immaturity would be if I started going around yelling at Sr. Mods and Admins about my being denied, Or going around in game doing #KorrenianForMod. In my opinion I took the more mature route and sat down like a civilized person and created this thread that stated my opinions on the matter. '' What are he benefits of hiring a 13 year old'' You may ask. Well younger people are more in sync with other people that think just a little bit like them, After all we all have that kid inside us thats thinks differently at times. There are it's up's and it's down's about this subject. I realize yes the 13 year old thing does have a drama factor to it ( This thread in the first place ). Yet I just feel inclined to speak up for the people my age that wish to be moderator that wouldn't do it themselves.

Well i guess this shows that you are different from the others XD
maybe try talking to a Sr. Moderator about your situation and show as much dedication as you did in this thread. Nobody else in the community can help so this rant was slightly pointless and all rants are annoying.
