I can relate to this although I was never really bullied. I was one of the smallest in the year when i was 11/12 but now at 18 I am now 5'11"-6'0" it's always fun to see how people react when you change. Tbh I am not a bulky guy but I have a lot of training so I know how to use my strength to it's potential :p I mean it's always fun when people try and pin me down and fail ;)

I'm 14 and I'm 6'0" :p

I've always really loved my social position. I have my close friends that are nerdy and such that I talk to most of the time. I also play football, so I get respect from those guys and talk to them. Then I'm really smart, so random people like me because they ask me questions and I help them. I don't think there's anyone that actually dislikes me, so I'm satisfied.

I'm in marching band(with some of the least popular kids in the school) and I play baseball(with some of the most popular kids in the school) and there is an equal d-bag to nice person ratio in both of those groups. I've noticed that in every "social group" there is gonna be d-bags, so just ignore them.

Jock

To clear things up, there is a major difference between a jock and athletes. Jocks tend to abuse their popularity, while the athletes don't really mind who they talk to or hang out with.

Well in this case, yes, there are a few of them at my school. I'm friends with a few and they're really not half bad. But there are, of course, the really stupid ones.

There are so many jocks or wannabe jocks in my school. If I wanted to, I could be one, but I prefer the "unpopular" kids then the "popular" ones. However, I've heard that that all goes away when they get to high school in my town :D

In that case, I'm an athlete, and too many kids in my school are jocks.

How old are you n
I remember back in middle school their as this kid in my grade named Jeremy. This was around grades 6 through 8. He used to really get on my nerves by pushing me around in the hallways, at lunch, in the locker rooms. I couldn't say he was a jock so much as a bully. Generally, he was just a major meanie. ;~;
One of the major things that he held against be was that I was short. He was tall, and I wasn't. Most of you don't know this, but I didn't get over 5 feet tall until I turned just before I turned 14.

Either way, my strategy against this kid was just to ignore him, and just try to forget about it. Thankfully, it worked, and I hadn't seen anything from him for the rest of middle school.

I recall that last year, my sophomore year in High School, I ended up next to Jeremy in the line to get food for lunch. I honestly couldn't help but laugh as I towered over him by at least 6 inches. I'm currently 5'11", and he must have been about 5'4". I think I left him speechless, and he just gawked at me before turning away.

He's expelled now, I think. XD

TL;DR Just ignore it.
ow
My older sister, who's 17, kept mocking me because I was short. Now, she's 5'1", and I'm 5'8", and she absolutely hates it when I stand next to her.

O_O I still automatically think you're a female when I read your posts, so I was like "Woooah, you're a tallll lady o_O"
and then I remembered you're a guy.. *facedesk*

I'm homeschooled now, for what would be my Freshman year in highschool, but in Middleschool and Elementary, there were tons of jocks. Being that I'm in South Florida, about half of them were Hispanic/Latino people who spoke mad-fast Spanish.. which kinda sucked, cuz it took me an entire month to learn how to say "I don't speak Spanish" in Spanish -__-
I'm one of those kids who doesn't hang out with any group. I solo the hallways and don't talk to anyone, and just walk by you without giving you a second glance even if you call out my name (which rarely happens, since I hardly talk to anyone in the first place). And if I do look at you, 9/10 times I'm giving you my famed Dead Stare (No, not Death Stare. Dead Stare. There's a rumor in my middleschool that there's a guy who is literally dead - No pulse, random grey (lifeless) spots of skin, and doesn't feel pain. That's me ;))
So I don't have an issue with jocks, probably because I got into a fight with two of them near the beginning of grade 7.
However, I do see a LOT of fellow nerds getting bullied by jocks, bullies, "popular" kids, and the likes. Most of the time I walk between the victim and the bully and "accidentally" bump into the bully.
Nub I'm taller than you and I'm 14.

No offense to either of you, but I'd just like to point something out that I've noticed.

I dont have jocks at my school, actually everyones really nice. I talk to a lot of the seniors and they seem like cool guys :)
That's something often said by the jocks themselves. Jocks are popular, and that "popularity" automatically puts them kinda at the top of this "Social Scale" or whatever. They assume its natural, and they don't go out of their way to do something for other people, unless they're a fellow "high-ranking" person on the "scale".
The nerds, the unsociable fellows, and the people who aren't popular eventually get used to it, and they acknowledge that there's jocks and whatnot. However, wherever a popular person goes, they're greeted by tons of friends - Hence the term popular. They don't see the two or three nerds hanging in the background, because they're too busy joking around with fellow popular kids. Then they assume "Oh, everythings fine, no one's mean" right? They don't get bullied, because of their connections, good looks, sense of humor, or whatever it is that makes them so dang popular. In fact, some of them are bullies themselves, but may or may not notice it.
If they walk up to an upperclassman, they can greet them on equal, or nearly equal, terms. They don't feel uncomfortable, because they have such an abundance of self-confidence and "swagger" one might say.
The nerds stay away from them, and if a popular kid talks to them first, they act as if everything's fine, everything's dandy, nothing is wrong, which is not always true. I've seen tons, and I mean tons of kids intimidated by a seemingly friendly-looking person.
Lower classmen look up to them, but also can greet and be greeted on equal or nearly equal terms, if they're also popular.

I hate talking about this stuff, because then I insult jocks worldwide (oh wait, no I don't, I love making people mad! It's hilarious!)

In case you're wondering, at a glance most people peg me as a nerd. However, if they actually observe me, they'll notice that I'm in a group all by myself, who shuns the nerds, jocks, athletes, cliques, cruisers, and pretty much everyone else.
