It's possible, sure, but talking to them won't get you mod.
Feel free to ask them questions regarding it, but if you'd actually like to become a mod, you need to fill out and application (application template found here: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.c...vailable-volunteer-staff-positions-mcsg.7389/) then post your finalized application here: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/forums/apply/ and title it "(your minecraft username)- Moderator Application.
