Exactly. It's what we've been doing with our maps. Shaders literally make it look completely different. It's so stupid.
When you build a map, you obviously want to make it look as beautiful as possible, and I agree that people can get the wrong impression through extensive use of shaders, however, we shouldn't just throw it under the bus.

In an ideal world I would favour having an album/trailer with shaders and one without, using a default/near default texture pack. (As Denster91 mentioned above). This would allow the map maker and friends to show off their map in the best way, while also showing that to your average MCSG player, they to can experience the beauty of a map without shaders. However, I stand firmly by the point of view that shaders should be allowed alongside the default view.

And just to add, whenever I make anything, I use default due to the fact that most people looking at it will also experience it in this way and I am against building a map in shaders.

Like many others have said, its nice to be able to see these maps this way, but it is only for aesthetics. Most people see shaders as a map picture mod. Most people however either can not run shaders on their computer or do not run it in game due to lag increase.

Thanks for the replies guys! Good discussion! I understand, maybe it should be a requirement that you need default pictures. But you may also have pictures with shaders.
