This happens every update:
1.7: "MINECRAFT IS RUINED!11!! 1.7 is horrible!!!!!"
1.8: "Mincraft is ded!!! PVP is RUINED!"
etc...

If you pay close attention to the updates, you will see that the PVP changes now require a lot more skill to master. Currently, if you can click fast, you can win. These new mechanisms add more skill to the game.

I agree that it will take some getting used to, as does any update. When the new stained clays came out, nobody liked them. Look now, everyone loves building with them.

As for your comment about Microsoft; they have nothing to do with any changes made to the game. There has been no new developers added to the Mojang team since the acquisition. Any changes made to the game are purely of what the developers and Mojang team think players would like.

It's not possible that any server won't update to 1.9, every server must update. Servers can't sit in a 1.7 / 1.8 protocol hack server forever, just because there are a few people who dislike it. when 1.10 comes out, we will still be sitting on a 1.7/1.8 server, which would be a nightmare for developers, having to upgrade so many things all at once. The developers can choose not to add potion arrows, or any of the new items that you dislike.

EDIT: Please do not double post.

Extending on that ^

All PvP changes Mojang have made can be reverted by the developers at MCGamer on the server side. No need to worry.

No but really I came to the point where I asked myself "How can you hate on something so much that u still play?" So, I now only play if friends want to and that is not very often cause none of us try hard like we once did.

jeezus christ are you mental?

"Currently if you can click fast, you can win"

Okay mr skiller who knows everything about winning. Try it. Go on Badlion and 1v1 or play a game. Don't strafe, just loot and click fast. See how far that gets you.

The new mechanisms are literally either

disabling clicking fast (yay guys let's make it 1 click per second so everyone can hit each other!!1!!!1!11!)

Shields (wtf? this is probably the mechanic that makes the least amount of sense)

Dual Wielding (This is ok but eh)

Dynamic reach (this was added in 1.8, and it is trash. The most annoying luck based thing ever)

The arrow stuff doesn't really affect mcsg that much

Servers can sit in 1.7 forever if 90 percent of the playerbase will stay on it. (Badlion and Kohi)

It sure does...
1.7 made the game take less skill due to the sprint key.
1.8 Is all luck and has way bigger hit boxes.
1.9 looks as bad as COD ghosts was to play.

So in what way does this take skill?

In 1.9 snapshots you can change the attack speed of swords & other items to make them like previous versions.

Currently, if you can click fast, you can win. These new mechanisms add more skill to the game.
So now you have to click slow. Big whoop. Revolutionizing the metagame is not happening.
And combos? Forget it, assuming you want to do even 1 heart with that diamond sword.

Why not something knockback-based? Like the slower the clicks, the more knockback, while faster clicks do less knockback but also allow a bigger window of time for your opponent to hit back?
Then if you were getting combo'd, you would wait and knock them farther back to run. But if you were combo-ing you could mix it up to keep them at a fixed distance, e.g. short short long for players that want a close up battle, but medium to long for people that want more hitstun and safety approach.

Or better yet, they should give us the option to change PvP mechanics, so every server could bring something new to the table or bring back an old style while keeping newer 1.9 features like blocks and potions. I'm just saying that if the best Mojang can do to make PvP more fun is to give us a small delay to do damage, then I'll be pretty upset.
