Why don't you like the Vareide maps? And you wouldn't get the nostalgic feel about them unless you played beta/v1.

I disagree with a lot of these, I like the gameplay on TS3 and Origins. The raised spawn adds a new element of challenge, Origins also has a pretty good idea for a sub-game however there is no reward, if that was fixed it would be one of my favourites. Eye of Horus I'm neutral about, I don't like the massive amounts of traps in the pyramid after having to do so much parkour, but otherwise it's fine IMO. Moonbase has a lot of gear on it but the darkness is extremely annoying - especially for recording. I feel like underplaying isn't a good reason to remove The Fallen Empire as it's still an amazing map even if the games do go for a while. As for Lobby Games, I find it fun and the void adds another element of challenge. There's not much that's actually directly ripped from the lobby, only the castle - the rest is a whole new place to explore and it has a lot of amazing chest routes.

The ones that you want to stay that I want gone are Breeze Island & Solar Frost. Breeze Island needs a lot of improvements, such as the tiering but my biggest annoyance about the map is the sheer amounts of water. People can just jump in the water and run forever. I think The Nexus had the right idea putting lily pads all over it and Breeze Island 2 looks and plays a lot better. As for Solar Frost, it's way too small and quite annoying. The spawn is on two layers and if you spawn in the wrong place you're pretty much screwed. The tunnels are way too narrow and there is a very limited number of ways to go to get stuff in my experience - that's if you even get out of spawn which seems to be most of the map. Flint & Steel is almost impossible to use due to the sheer amount of snow layers. I think V1 was a lot better and I might like it more if it was still V1.

I also hate most of the Vareide maps. SG1 is way too big, there's too much water, it's very easy to get lost and the forest is hard to navigate. SG2 is somewhat laggy, the spawn is quite irritating to get to much like Holiday Resort and there's only really one good route which everyone rushes. SG3 speaks for itself, quite ugly, barely any chests, a little laggy and hard to navigate forests that all look the same. SG4 is a somewhat good map, with decent routes and definitely the best of Vareide however the spawn is quite annoying, making it way too easy for people to die almost immediately and it seems to be played every 3rd game. SG5 is probably my personal favourite of the Vareide maps however the snow is annoying, there's not really any routes that have more than 2 tier 2s and the spawn is rather annoying having to jump down, allowing for half of the game to die within a minute or so.

Thought I should mention that I played V1 and don't get any nostalgia from them, it wasn't even that long ago that MCSG started.

Fallen Empire: No one ever gave this map a chance. It looks beautiful and has good gameplay. (It is a bit large, but some maps are.) However, I never see this map-making a “rebound” because it has fallen to deep into the “never voted, must be awful category”. This map should be removed due to the lack of popularity and the fact that it may not ever make a comeback.

Moonbase 9: Many of you may be shocked with this, but hear me out. I took the time as a spectator one day to look around the map with a keen eye. By looking carefully I noticed quite a bit: The terraforming is sloppy. If you take time to look you will notice holes everywhere, blocks sticking out, and that massive mountain to nowhere surrounding the map. Also, the builds, as cool as they are, really aren’t anything special. And the darkness makes for interesting gameplay, but not good gameplay. I think this map is helped by the fact that it is so dark. If it wasn’t as dark as it is, I can see many more people noticing building/terraforming errors. Also, the fact that it is so dark greatly inhibits gameplay. I think this map should be removed to make way for better things.
I don't believe that Fallen Empire is underplayed. Sure, it's not as popular as Breeze Island or Valleyside but it's played frequently enough to enjoy a change yet not become boring and repetitive.

I don't believe that Moonbase 9 should be removed as well. If the terraforming is sloppy and there's loads of blocks sticking out, the map could just be revamped to solve that. The gameplay is good and sure the map is dark on the outside, but it's not dark enough to inhibit this gameplay. I think the map is tiered really well and the spread of chests means that more people survive longer in the game, creating more intense pvp.

One of the most underplayed but best tiering and builds: Remnant (I believe it is by Fyre UK). Almost every chest is a tier 2 and the build quality is amazing.
I forgot to add it, but it is another example of an unbalanced looks good/good gameplay scale. It lags and it almost impossible to find an open area to pvp. Corn isn't even open. I do like the map though, you make good points.

how is it good that nearly all the chests are tier 2?

My post about Vareide maps wasn't opinion, it was fact. There is too much history tied into the maps and if they were removed I can guarantee you there would be a riot.

You seem to want to keep the maps that most people do not like and want to get rid of the maps that most people like. I respect both of your opinions, but Vareide maps, love them or not, aren't going anywhere, and you guys know that. Same with Breeze Island and Solar Frost. I am not going to counter argue any of the other maps becuase you already know my opinions, but this was a suggestion for a "spring cleaning" type of thing. There are over 45 24 player maps. That is just too many, and I think I made good cases to remove everyone I brought up, whether you agree or not.

I never said I disliked the maps if you go back and look, I just made cases to remove them. There are way to many maps on the servers these days and I was trying to do some "spring cleaning" with my update. While they aren't horrible maps, they aren't the best. I think it would be fitting if they removed them to make way for new maps that are better. Or delete them just to cut down on the amount of maps. (I don't know if you have noticed, but there are a lot of maps.) xD

So I have seen much controversy over the last couple of months regarding maps. (I feel like it started around the Winds of Change Update.)

Hub Games: No comment….

EDIT: Added a review for Enchanted Forest.
Enchanted Forest: It is a map full of custom trees/mushrooms/etc. It looks cool but I just don't know what gameplay/chests are like because I have yet to play it. However, first impressions make the map look promising. Only one thing: the trees appear as if they could have been ripped off from this guy: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/native-trees-of-europe-template-repository-1779952/ : I could be wrong though. :p

EDIT: My explanations about my "no comment" reviews:
As a map maker, it kills me to see people take the download link for Breeze Island and use world edit to change the water to lava and add several poorly built bridges/structures. I agree, it can be fun and interesting to play on, but it does not hide the fact that the map is a rip off and that people got recognition for building a map that they didn't truly build.

Same goes for Lobby/Hub Games: they may be cool for special events, etc. But as far as a 24/7 map, they shouldn't be part of it. They may be fun, but once again it doesn't hide the fact that they aren't true MCSG maps and could be built so much better.

This is it! I didn’t mean to offend anyone or cause any flame. I just wanted to give my review of every 24 player map on MCSG. If I forgot anything, let me know.

Tell me if you agree/disagree below.

Thanks to Giggity69Goo for the list of maps.
I agree with most of this, here are my opinions on some of your negative reviews.

TSG3: Strangely enough, I actually enjoy playing this map on Hive, there it has pretty fast gameplay, but on MCSG, everybody just wanders into the massive skyscrapers and gets lost. I feel the same way about BI2, I still like it on MCSG, but it's soo much more fun to play on hive in my opinion.

Fallen Empire: This map is actually surprisingly fun to play if you give it a chance. It's well made for PvP, has unique gameplay factors, and is all around nice looking. If they shrunk the radius of the map by 100 or so blocks, it probably would've been a hit. I like it the way it is, but I can understand that due to the longer games, other people don't. (They are currently revamping the map, for a second time.)

Lobby Games: I've not played on it since the recent update that changes some things, so this may be a dated opinion.
I used to like Lobby Games. I really did. But because of the only route that's good, the blimp, and the difficulty of traversing this map, it just became boring to me. Overplayed maps quickly get boring to me, well how about playing a map that you already are 'playing' for 2 minutes every time you play MCSG. You kind of get tired of looking at it.

Origins: This map is amazing. I mean it. I would rate this as #2 on best SG map ever in my opinion, and #1 on greatest survival games map ever made, from a technical standpoint. Here's a rebuttal to complaints:
The map takes to long - no it doesn't...most games I play it only takes 10-20 minutes.
I always fall off - Then don't run on crazy platforms, dummy. It's actually surprisingly difficult to die due to falling if you don't purposely run towards your doom.
This map is always one I love. It has quick gameplay, an immersive story (first I actually got interested in) great terraforming, great building, relativity small map, many secrets, gameplay changing implementations (mob spawners, etc.) /rantoff

Memory of Earth:
Not played much, but the map just feels sloppy and lacking in polish.

Eye of Horus: no comment, haven't played it enough.

Moonbase 9: I'd actually like this map if it wasn't dark and if they implemented the interesting sounding zero-gravity effect (which I've heard may still happen.)

Treacherous Heights 2: not played it yet, but I hated the first one.

Demon's Breeze: Great tiering, great structures, very original map. I like this more than Breeze Island. It fixes a lot of Breeze's problems, and manages to stay very original while only really using the base structure of the map.

Fortune Island: A lot of people like fortune island. Remember the backlash when they were going to remove it? It's a pretty fun map to explore, actually.

Wasteland, Hub Games, and Atlantis: Not played them yet.

Excavation Zero: Not played the revamped version that's been added, but it was one of my favorites during the PMC contest.

For Orgins it takes 10-20 minutes because 10 people leave at the start! Lol
